Referral process
How to refer.
Emergency or planned.
Step 1
Call or email. 07849 429020 or referrals@the-emberproject.co.uk. The phone gets a founder directly. Partial information is fine to start — send what you have.
Within 1 hr
Receipt confirmed by the founder, with a direct number for the rest of the process. Not an autoreply.
Within 4 hrs
Yes or no, with reasons, in writing. A no tells you why, and who else might be a better fit if we know of one.
Same day
Emergency move-in where needed: room checked against our room-ready list, welcome pack printed with their name, key worker briefed and on shift. We've designed the move-in to work at speed without feeling like an emergency to the young person.
Planned
Your timescale. Pre-visit, meet the key worker first, overnight stays before committing. The young person gets their key worker's profile card before move-in day.
What we need from you
Name, age, current situation, risk information you hold, anything about who they can't safely share a house with, and what a good outcome looks like for this young person. Two pages, or a phone call.
What we'll never do
Say yes to a bad match to fill a bed. Charge for a referral that doesn't proceed. Move a young person between houses for occupancy reasons. Surprise you — our threshold for picking up the phone is low.
Referrals, any day
07849 429020 referrals@the-emberproject.co.ukNo charge for referrals that don't proceed. No uplift without your sign-off. We don't take referrals where assessed needs call for registered care.
